Steel Plant

Cutting Technologies (CTI) helped retrofit and modernize a century- old steel production line that produces steel plating for the U.S. Navy. The project required the demolition and removal of massive pieces of heavy steel machinery, clearing the way for new production line components and a new isotope gauge.

CTI’s engineer and technicians wire sawed 39"-diameter solid steel rollers and their trunnion mounts, as well as the 4”-thick structural steel of the roller tables and foundations. Multiple 20-30-ton sections of heavy machinery were safely cut and removed without incident.

Working under the rigorous schedule of a high-pressure outage, CTI was able to complete the work in the shortest time possible, gaining a significant savings of cost and time for the owner.
